The economic consequences of Putin´s war

The conversation served to provide a quick interim assessment of the economic consequences of Putin´s war. Deploring the escalating human cost and misery caused by the military aggression, a first round of debate focussed on the impact assessment at the current juncture; it then turned to possible future scenarios of geo-political and geo-economical dynamics, obviously contingent on further developments on the ground. While stressing the huge uncertainties prevailing at the moment, participants expressed some optimism that the economic fall-out and welfare losses in the EU could be held in check. Participants also agreed that due to partly highly sensitive information and viewpoints, no details about the conversation should be made public.
